About The Role

As Cheesecake Labs expands into AI-driven services, we are hiring a senior builder who operates end-to-end, from understanding a business problem to shipping a working solution autonomously and fast.

This is not a traditional software engineering role.

We’re looking for someone who thinks like a founder, communicates like a consultant, and delivers like a 10x engineer powered by AI.

You will work directly with clients, define structured specifications, and use AI tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent) as your primary execution layer to build and ship real solutions.

Some activities you would do on a typical day at Cheesecake Labs:

• Take a business problem or client brief and deliver a working solution independently.
• Run client conversations to understand pain points, define scope, and align on expected outcomes.
• Translate ambiguous problems into structured, detailed specifications (specs) that guide execution.
• Use AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, or similar) as your primary development interface.
• Prototype and iterate quickly: spec → generate → validate → ship.
• Define what is in and out of scope, and push back when needed.
• Ensure continuous client visibility through async updates, demos, and clear communication.
• Think in systems: connect technical decisions to product impact and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product stakeholders when needed, but operate autonomously by default.

In order to succeed, you'll likely need the following skills

• English proficiency (advanced/fluent — client-facing role).
• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with a track record of end-to-end delivery.
• Strong experience building and shipping products independently (0 → 1 or MVPs).
• Daily, fluent usage of AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, or similar) as a core part of your workflow.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured, executable specifications (spec-driven mindset).
• Strong product thinking: ability to define scope, prioritize, and make trade-offs without relying on a PM.
• Experience interacting directly with clients or stakeholders.
• Experience building real-world applications (APIs, integrations, backend services, or full-stack products).
• Ability to validate and iterate on AI-generated outputs based on intent and behavior (not just code correctness).
• Comfort operating with high autonomy and low structure.
• Applicants must live in Brazil and have a Brazilian bank account, be legally allowed to provide services to a Brazilian entity and willingness to receive in Brazilian local currency (Real R$).

Nice to Have:

• Experience in consulting or agency environments (client-facing delivery)
• Exposure to product management (discovery, defining acceptance criteria, prioritization)

• Familiarity with agentic pipelines (multi-step AI workflows)
